Kawa is a solid implementation of Scheme with many features. It is portable to any environment that can run Java applications. It has active use and development, a 75-member mailing list, and is used for a number of different projects. Most people seem to be using it as a scripting language for Java packages. Other people just prefer to use Scheme, but have to co-exist with Java.
