GNU Messenger has been decommissioned, since other projects have come along in the years when it was moribund that do the same job.


Introduction

This page describes GNU Messenger, a secure messaging system. GNU Messenger is a messaging system that attempts to keep your conversations private from everyone except the intended recipient. It is compatible with existing IM networks and allows you to communicate with other GM users even when you're not using a native server.

Downloading

GNU Messenger is currently in CVS at Savannah.

Compiling

To compile GNU Messenger you will need a few libraries and a recent version of gcc. It is currently quite picky on the build environment.
